Some would say it's a waste of time, but I love doing genealogy. It's like being a detective and solving puzzles at the same time. I love history. The connection of generations brings my love for family and history together. I am hoping to share my discoveries, find others out there who connect with me, and learn more about where I came from.

Tip #1
A lot of people don't know where to start. All I can say is just start. And start now! It's never too early, but it can be too late. Start with yourself and then build you family tree going backwards. It's usually referred to as a four generation pedigree. If you wait, all that first hand information, names, places, dates and stories will be lost or harder to obtain. After you finish the pedigree chart, do your family group sheets. Start with your self as a child with your parents. Do one for your siblings and then, again, go backwards. Get that done and then you will be ready for the next tip. Here is where you can get a downloadable Four Generation Pedigree Chart . Let's get started.
